Today, we conclude our highlight coverage of the 135th Knights of Columbus Supreme annual convention from St. Louis. The convention officially ended this morning with a memorial Mass celebrated by Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, who is the Supreme Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus. This closing Mass commemorated the knights who are now numbered among the saints and martyrs in Heaven.

To help commemorate the close of the convention, Pope Francis sent his personal greetings in a letter to the Knights from the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
In the letter, the Pope calls on the Knights, in the spirit of their founder, to reject the culture of indifference; "to commit themselves to strive for the sanctification of the world from within, and to carry out their daily responsibilities in the spirit of the Gospel through the witness of their lives.”
The Pope also expressed his appreciation for the unremitting efforts of the Knights, to defend and promote the sanctity of marriage and the dignity & beauty of family life.

And while one large gathering of Catholics comes to an end, another large gathering of young Catholics is in full-swing, but this time in Indonesia.
More than 2,000 young people from 21 Asian countries arrived in Indonesia over the past week to celebrate the 7th Annual Asian Youth Day, which officially kicked off yesterday and runs until August 6th.
Modeled after the World Youth Day gatherings, Asian Youth Day brings together young Asian Catholics to participate in various catechesis and events that promote the faith. This year's theme is: "Joyful Asian Youth! Living The Gospel In Multicultural Asia".
The 6th Annual Asian Youth Day, that was held in South Korea, was attended by Pope Francis in 2014, where he announced that the 2017 event would be held in Indonesia.
